Uses
My technology is currently my laptop, my iPad, my switch, my Wii, my 3DS, my PSVita, and my DS. I own various other bits and bobs, but these are primarily what I use/play on.
Laptop
My laptop is a Dell Latitude with a 6th gen i5, 8GB RAM, and Intel HD 520 graphics. It originally came with windows 10, but I replaced it with linux mint as soon as I was able. I use i3wm primarily, as it allows me to navigate my pc with mostly my left hand, which is very VERY useful with my awesome nerve damage. I also have cinnamon as a backup DE for edge cases where it works better (primarily when I'm using more than one screen, I'm letting someone borrow my pc for a moment, or weirdly, if I want audio on linux when screensharing. Still haven't quite figured out why for that one.)
On my laptop I have all my themes where possible set to Dracula. I fucking love dracula. If I'm feeling spicy I use catpuccin (which is loosely what this light mode is based off of! I knew logically I didn't want white, but trying to figure out the nuances of off-white felt like too much effort compared to just using an off-white I already like.)
I use firefox as my browser, and for weird edge cases chrome. DuckDuckGo is my main search engine, but I switch to marginalia whenever I need anything nicher.
I use either spotify or sayonara as a music player, as my music is between my mp3 files and spotify. On spotify itself I use spicetify to clean up the homepage, and to put dracula on spotify.
When I make music I used to use reaper, but switched to bitwig. My old beepbox songs are either on beepbox or jummbus.
Before my nerve damage I used krita with an xp-pen deco01. I still use krita now for image editing, which is useful for when I'm making my cel-shaded bullshit in SFM.
I use alacritty as my terminal, as it's visibly faster to me.
I use sublime for coding, and for setting up this website. I use obsidian for notes or long term backup, ellipsus for fanfic or original writing, and on my iPad I use apple notes for school notes. The wide range allows me to consolidate mindsets, and different workflows.
For gaming, I use sober when my friends force me to play on roblox, and I use MCPE launcher for when I'm forced to play on bedrock, and I use lutris when I need to do some bullshit, and I use steam for everything else.
iPad
I own my iPad for accessibility reasons, I wouldn't normally own an iPad, but it's the only way I can still draw and write due to the lack of friction and the apple pencil. As aforementioned, I use apple notes for school notes, and I also use procreate for drawing. I also sometimes dabble with flipaclip, but I hate animating frame by frame with a burning passion. I still try anyways.
3DS + Vita + DSi + Wii
All of my modded consoles are about par for the modding procedure, I have little to no hacky bullshit on them. I keep it simple and the customisation within the means of what is provided to me. You should mod your consoles
(It's more important on the 3DS and Vita for backup and protection of the consoles or games. Install batteryfixer and fullbright on Vita. Check and backup your 3DS cartridges regularly for damage; they WILL fail eventually, and now in 2026 there's been an uptick of people reporting cartridge failures*.)
|* which is due to people checking them more due to people posting about checking them, but my point still stands.
Kindle
Finally a modded thing with some customisation! I use KOReader with Bookshelf thumbs up. I find those dramatic vaguely AI-generated reddit posts about what KOReader UI to use funny because there's literally like 4 options.
